Crushers name Willie MacDonald Head Coach
New Glasgow, NS The Weeks Crushers Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Willie MacDonald has been officially named Head Coach. MacDonald took over behind the bench in February and guided the Crushers into a playoff spot before the 2019/20 season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
“I’d like to thank ownership for giving me this opportunity” says MacDonald. “The goal will be to get better every day and I am extremely excited to get back to Pictou County full time and get started.”
MacDonald, from Baddeck, NS spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Crushers from 2017 to 2019 before taking over as Head Coach of the Mitsubishi Sydney Rush of the Nova Scotia Major Midget league for the 2019/20 season.
