New Glasgow – Pictou County lost a tremendous young man this past week with the passing of the Crushers #1 Fan Daniel Arsenault. Upon hearing of his passing the Crushers set out on a home and home battle with the Truro Bearcats. Last Saturday the Crushers defeated the Bearcats 5-3 at the Rath Eastlink Arena in Truro. Jacob Hickey and Jaden Mason both had two goals while Evan Gallant had one.
On Thursday, Crushers Captain Evan MacLennan wore a jersey representing Daniel during warmup and the National Anthem. The Crushers scored two goals early from MacLennan and Malcolm MacEachern and never looked back, defeating the Bearcats 8-5. Kevin Mason (2), Jacob Hickey, Aiden Hickey and Dylan Riley (2) rounded out the scoring for the Crushers.
Following the contest, the Crushers skated to the section where Daniel sat and saluted Daniels friends and family that were in attendance.
