The Pictou County Weeks Crushers (20-12-1-3) cruised past the Halifax Lions (6-27-2-3) 7-1 Saturday night in New Glasgow.

Anthony Pisano led the Crushers with 1 goal and 2 assists while Shawn O'Donnell added 3 assists.

Mitch Carabin opened the scoring at 9:17 to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Andrew Joudrey (powerplay) scored at 15:03 to tie the score at 1-1. Jeremy Sheppard scored at 17:57 to give the Crushers a 2-1 lead after the first period. Geoff Hum (powerplay) scored at 6:00 to extend the lead to 3-1. Stuart Lenehan (shorthanded) scored at 9:45 to increase the lead to 4-1 after the second period. Tyler Noseworthy (powerplay) scored at 10:20 to widen the lead to 5-1. Pisano scored at 13:41 to run the score to 6-1. Robbie Little rounded out the scoring at 19:27.

Pictou County went 3 for 6 on the powerplay while Halifax went 0 for 5.

Alexandre Quessy stopped 27 of 28 shots for the win while Melvin Day stopped 52 of 59 shots in the loss.
