The
Weeks Junior A Crushers are looking for billet families for the upcoming hockey
season. The support of local area families to provide a home away from home for
young players is key to the long term sustainability and success of the
Crushers in Pictou County. In addition there is a need for billet families for
players attending the Crushers training camp which gets underway on August 27th
and will end around September 6th .This is a good opportunity for
local area families to host players for a short time frame and get positive
exposure to the players and the Crushers organization.
General
Manager and Head Coach Troy Dumville says families in Pictou County can become
involved in the hockey community as well as enjoy the opportunity to develop a
special bond with young players. “Players from outside the County need a
healthy and safe environment, and it has been a tremendous experience for our
billet families in the past who treated the players as one of the
family.” Billets will also be provided monthly
allowance and season tickets.
Families
interested in becoming involved can contact Troy Dumville at troy@weekscrushershockey.com or
calling Jane Scott at 485-7326.
The
Crushers season opener will be Thursday September 10th when they
host the Campellton Tigers. For
