Former Weeks Crusher Shawn O’Donnell has committed to play for the Saint Mary’s Huskies this coming September.  O’Donnell who spent the better part of 3 seasons in Pictou County, after a stint with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL says he is looking forward to getting started with the Huskies. “I am definitely looking forward to playing for such a well regarded team like Saint Mary's. It's going to be a great opportunity and challenge.” O’Donnell led the Crushers in scoring last season and was a member of the Crushers Fred Page Cup Championship team in 2008. “Shawn’s work ethic and commitment to continue to develop as a hockey player will serve him well at the next level” said Crushers assistant coach Chad McDavid. “As a program, we aim to develop hockey players for the next level and prepare them for that step, and Shawn is a great example of that” says McDavid. “Now that my time in Pictou County is up, I feel very fortunate and thankful that I had the chance to play my junior career there as it is a great organization that provided me opportunities and exposure” says O’Donnell.
