Dumville Resigns from Crushers
June 02, 2010
After just one season at the helm of the Weeks Jr A Crushers, Head Coach and GM Troy Dumville has decided to step away from the position. “It was an extremely tough decision but one that had to be made” said Dumville following the announcement. “It was a difficult year balancing the new position and a nine year old daughter in Moncton who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and spent a lot of time in hospital” added Dumville.
“I am very proud of what I accomplished here this season. Anytime you come into a new organization, there are lots of challenges to overcome and I felt very good about where the team finished the season. I was very fortunate to have a great group of players to work with and I will miss the hockey staff that made life enjoyable coming to the rink on a daily basis” acknowledged Dumville.
Dumville leaves a team behind that is geared up for another run at a championship this season. “The hardest part about leaving is knowing that this year’s team is going to be even better than last years. I wish the organization good luck in bringing a league title to Pictou County” said Dumville.
“The Weeks Hockey Organization is supportive of this move and wish Troy all the best in his future endeavours”, says President Wade Taylor. “We had a great run and under Troy won our first division title, which we are extremely proud of.”
The Crushers are clearly focused on the upcoming MJAHL draft June 11 and 12 in Bridgewater to fill a couple of needs for this year and as well add future prospects to build for the future. The draft will be coordinated by assistant coaches Jeff Green and Chad McDavid, Head Scout Tim Boyce and Taylor. “We are fortunate to have these individuals and have done a great deal of the work already coupled with a strong supporting network will help ensure we have a successful draft. These guys were instrumental in the success at the 2009 draft”, states Taylor.
The team will be announcing their 2010 territorial picks within the week.
