PICTOU COUNTY MAJOR BANTAM SEEK HEAD COACH
The Weeks Hockey Organization have been selected as the franchisee for the Major Bantam Team representing Pictou County of the newly formed Nova Scotia Major Bantam League. This new league will be comprised of twelve teams across the province at an aim to increase development opportunities for Bantam aged hockey players in Nova Scotia. The team is community owned and operated by an independent board of directors and has a strong focus on player development and opportunity.  

Reporting directly to the Team President, the individual will possess very good leadership, communication, and management skills with a strong hockey background. The candidate will be a minimum NCCPDevelopment 1 Coach and will have the required Hockey Nova Scotia accreditations.

The Head Coach will be responsible for the following:
  • Create, develop and sustain a team culture of winning and success concurrently with the achievement of reasonable player athletic  and academic goals/objectives
  • Preparation of annual team plan, including setting of goals, practice plans, etc. for approval by Team President
  • Scouting and player recruitment
  • Coordination and running of spring evaluation camp
  • Work with Team Director of Operations to recruit and maintain all team staff (assistant coaches, trainer, therapist, equipment manager, etc.)
  • Develop and strengthen ties to community of  Pictou County through community volunteerism which would include player participation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Pictou County Minor Hockey
  • Ongoing professional development and involvement in Hockey Canada and Hockey Nova Scotia Elite development programs.
